<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://thetechlunch.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/amd.gif"><img class="size-medium wp-image-215 alignright" title="amd" src="http://thetechlunch.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/amd.gif?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="114" /></a>AMD, also known as Advanced Micro Devices, is spinning off its fabs into a separate company to cut costs.  Rumors of this have been flying around for quite a while, but only now is the rumor actually coming to fruition.  This new company will be known as Foundry, Co., and will manufacture chips for AMD and other companys as well - funding will be coming from an investment company from Abu Dhabi, who will provide up to $6 billion US dollars.</p>
<p>AMD has hit hard times lately competing against Intel's Core 2 Duo in the server, mobile, and desktop space.  Its K10 architecture yielded some improvements over its last generation, K8, but its lackluster performance, as well as the well-documented TLB bug that plagued the first generation of K10 processors, have kept its enthusiast use at a minimum.  The only way they are able to stay competitive is cost, which is good for the consumer, but bad for this company, which just posted a $1.189 billion loss for the last quarter in June.  Hopefully, AMD's upcoming Shanghai class processors, a 45nm die shrink for Barcelona which has the potential to raise performance and clock speeds, will make AMD competitive again.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO">Pentru etapa a 3-a a concursului SuperBlog 2008 organizat de <a href="http://pcnews.ro/">PCNews</a> am decis să aleg pentru review <a href="http://www.emag.ro/notebook_laptop/notebook-asus-lamborghini-vx2s-ak058g-core-2-duo-t7500-22ghz-2gb-200gb-vista-ultimate--pVX2S-AK058G">minunăţia asta de laptop</a>, pe numele lui complet: <strong>Asus Lamborghini VX2S-AK058G Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz, 2GB, 200GB, Vista Ultimate. </strong>Şi cum în numele său se află numele unei super-maşini, m-am gândit că poate, cine ştie, toate componentele sale sunt super. Haideţi să le luăm pe rând şi să vedem cu ce le putem asemui: </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Procesor</span></strong><span lang="RO">: Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2200Mhz, un Front Side Bus de 800 Mhz şi un cache de 4 MB. Chiar dacă nu e chiar ultima generaţie de la Intel, acest dual-core e rapid, frate. Dacă ar fi să-i găsesc un corespondent nici nu ar trebui să caut prea mult. Cred că acest procesor e într-adevăr un <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Gallardo">Lamborghini Gallardo</a> (Viteza maximă : 309 Km/h, acceleraţie 0-100Km-h în 4.1 secunde). Nu e cel mai rapid model, aici sunt de acord, însă comparându-l cu concurenţa sa, AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 sau TL-62 e ca şi cum ai compara acest Gallardo cu un <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifth-generation_Ford_Mustang">Mustang</a>. Binenteles şi Mustang-ul e o maşină performantă, puternică, rapidă, însă la un head-to-head ar rămâne mult în urma Lamborghini-ului. În plus, un Mustang consumă mai mult. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Display şi Video: </span></strong><span lang="RO">Ecranul e un TFT WSXGA+ (rezoluţie de 1680×1050 cu un aspect ratio de 16 : 10 ), Color Shine (aşa le place băieţilor de la ASUS să numească display-urile glossy). Şi cum ASUS sunt recunoscuţi pentru calitatea display-urilor, nici acesta nu face notă discordantă. Nu e pentru profesioniştii în ale graficii (pentru care display-urile mate sunt perfecte), însă pentru muritorii de rând e excelent. Placa grafică este un GeForce 8600M cu 512 MB de memorie dedicată şi încă 1 GB prin <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TurboCache">TurboCache</a> (adică placa video poate să „împrumute” ceva memorie din RAM). Nu e chiar cea mai bună placă video de pe piată (Nvidia a scos seria 9 în februarie anul curent, urmată apoi în iunie de seria 200, unde <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_gtx_280.html">GTX 280 e regele</a>), dar cu siguranţă orice joc de anul acesta va rula lin cu ajutorul acestei plăci.<span> </span>Aş fi vrut să compar experienţa vizuală a acestui laptop cu frumuseţea <a href="http://ilovelatte.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/jessica_alba.jpg">Jessica-i</a>. Însă acest notebook nu a atins perfecţiunea, de aceea cred că se potriveşte mai degrabă imaginii <a href="http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/2008/02/16-22/eva-longoria-pregnant.jpg">Evei</a>. Dar până la urmă e o chestie de gusturi. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Hdd<span> </span>&#38; RAM : </span></strong><span lang="RO"><span> </span>Memoria RAM e de 2 GB, extensibilă la 4. E un DDR2 la 667 Mhz (oare rotunjirea e din superstiţie?). Nici aici nu a fost atinsă perfecţiunea, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR3_SDRAM">DDR3</a> fiind succesorul care se impune rapid prin viteza sa superioară (Se ajunge şi la 1800Mhz, adică de aproape 3 ori viteza memorie notebook-ului la care se face referire aici). Însă cei 4 giga de memorie la care se poate ajunge sunt arhisuficienţi pentru cerinţele de acum şi mult timp în viitor. Oricât de lacom ar fi Vista şi alte aplicaţii, cantitatea e realmente impresionantă. Hard Disk-ul e de 200GB. Nu e mult, dar nici puţin. E destul. Şi oricând se poate suplimenta prin HDD externe. Etalonul? <a href="http://teo.primatv.ro/">Teo</a>. Nu e un foarte suplă, însă nici nu e rotofeie. Mai ales după cura urmată. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Multimedia : </span></strong><span lang="RO">Notebook-ul dispune de player Blu-Ray, înlocuitorul DVD-urilor clasice. Era şi timpul deoarece DVD-ul e deja un bătrânel şi trebuie să intre în pensie după ce a servit cu onoare încă din anii ’90. Pe un blu-ray putem pune 25 GB (single layer ) sau 50 GB (dual layer). Pe un dvd normal cifrele erau de 4,7 respectiv 8,5. Diferenţa se vede de la o poştă (Când am văzut anul trecut în primăvară, în Franţa, X-Men 3 rulat pe o plasmă de pe un Blu-Ray am rămas tablou. Experienţa e incomparabilă cu cea a unui DVD normal). La capitolul audio notebook-ul stă excelent, calitatea fiind <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_High_Definition_Audio">High Definition Audio</a>. Comparabilă cu vocea <a href="http://www.aliciakeys.com/">Aliciei Keys</a>. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Comunicaţii: </span></strong><span lang="RO">Notebook-ul dispune de o reţea 10/100/1000 la care puteţi lega ţeava de net, de wireless 802.11a/b/g/n în caz că nu aveţi ţeavă dar aveţi vecini „binevoitori”, un modem 56K dacă mergeţi la bunici sau vă place tortura dial-up precum şi de Bluetooth pentru conectare cu telefonul şi descărcare de poze pentru hi5. Deci are de toate pentru toţi. Din punctul acesta de vedere l-aş compara cu <a href="http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mircea_Badea">Mircea Badea</a> la emisiunea <a href="http://www.antena1.ro/index.php?page=show&#38;id=10">În gura presei</a> . Pentru că vorbeşte mult, dar cu folos.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Alimentarea </span></strong><span lang="RO">se face, atunci când nu aveţi o priză la îndemână, cu ajutorul acumulatorilor <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery">Li-Ion</a> cu 8 celule. Acele 8 celule fac diferenţa. E o greutate în plus, dar beneficiul este o autonomie sporită. Tine mult, aproape cât o călătorie cu <a href="http://www.cfr.ro/">CFR</a>. Cu deosebirea că în cazul notebook-urilor chiar dorim să dureze cât mai mult.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Sistemul de operare: </span></strong><span lang="RO">Windows Vista Ultimate. Cel mai deştept Windows creat până acum. E <a href="http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein">Einstein</a>-ul sistemelor de operare. Acum susţinătorii Linux sau Mac o să-mi sară în cap, însă aceştia nu fac împreună decât <a href="http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp">9% din totalul utilizatorilor de calculatoare</a>. De acea mă pun bine cu majoritatea. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span lang="RO"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><strong><span lang="RO">Preţul</span></strong><span lang="RO">: <strong>11.267,54 LEI</strong> la <a href="http://www.emag.ro/">emag</a>.<strong> </strong>Adică 4036.8 X 1 <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_dollar">verzişor</a>. E doar pentru cei care chiar nu au ce face cu banii, mai ales că la doar 64% din preţ luaţi <a href="http://www.emag.ro/notebook_laptop/notebook-asus-m70vm-7u075-intel-core-2-duo-p8600-4gb-2x320gb--pM70VM-7U075">acest</a> ASUS cu specificaţii clar superioare. Dar uneori marca face toţi banii. Eu îl recomand doar pentru cei care vor să se laude cu el. </span></p>

<p>Approfittando del CEATEC in Giappone AMD ha mostrato una slide che elenca, in maniera generale, quelle che saranno le caratteristiche delle future schede video che presenterà nel corso del prossimo anno.</p>
<p>Prima della metà del 2009 AMD migrerà verso le GPUs costruite con il processo produttivo a 40 nanometri, offrendo su quest´ultime il supporto alle API DirectX 11 e a Windows 7 (Vienna), il futuro Sistema Operativo di casa Microsoft. Continuerà l´utilizzo di chip di memoria video GDDR5 che sarà ampliato a tutte le fasce.</p>

Realizada em Chiba, no Japão, a Ceatec, a feira , em sua oitava edição, reuni 502 empresas de 15 países e um total de 2843 estandes. Ainda não foram totalizados o volume comercial de negócios pré realizados.<br />

<p>Worldwide chip sales continued to defy the global economic softening, rising 4.5 percent in August, the Semiconductor Industry Association said Thursday. But the numbers mask a significant weakness in the U.S.</p>
<p>Consumer interest in personal computers and cell phones fueled the market. Pricing pressure hit the DRAM and NAND flash memory chip businesses.(again). Without their influence, sales would have been up 11.4 percent.</p>
<p>Yet, sales in the Americas fell 7.3 percent from a year earlier. Making up for the decline, sales in Asia-Pacific climbed 12 percent and rose 2.2 percent in Europe - gains that could be imperiled in future months if the economic slump spreads abroad.</p>
<p>The SIA says it is sticking with its 4.3 percent forecast for this year..</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="spip">Este ano não tem sido bom para a AMD. Seu processador de 65nm <em>Barcelona </em>chegou ao mercado com vários meses de atraso, e já estava obsoleto em vários sentidos quando comparado aos equivalentes da Intel disponíveis na época. Para piorar as coisas, os chips <em>Barcelona </em>também continham um bug, tornando o processador que já estava atrasado ainda menos atraente para consumidores e fabricantes de computadores. Tudo isso contribuiu para o prejuízo de 1,2 bilhões de dólares no segundo trimestre de 2008, período em que a Intel contabilizou lucros nunca antes registrados pela empresa.</p>
<p class="spip">Num esforço para pôr a casa de novo em ordem, a AMD iniciou a produção do seu processador de próxima geração. <em>Shanghai</em>, um processador de 65nm com quatro núcleos, estará disponível no final de 2008, superando as expectativas iniciais. Como é de praxe, o <em>Shanghai </em>será lançado primeiro no mercado de servidores, para depois atingir o mercado de desktops.</p>
<p class="spip">Para diminuir a vantagem em desempenho dos processadores da Intel, os novos processadores baseados no <em>Shanghai </em>terão três vezes mais cache (6MB no total) que os processadores da geração anterior, e também contarão com o HyperTransport 3.0. A AMD afirma que estas modificações aumentarão o desempenho em até 20%, ao mesmo tempo que reduzirão o consumo de energia. Após o lançamento dos processadores <em>Shanghai</em>, os processadores Deneb de 45nm, voltados para o mercado de desktops, chegarão às lojas no início de 2009, seguidos pelos processadores Istambul (com seis núcleos), para servidores, no fim de 2009.</p>
<p class="spip">Este pode ser o empurrãozinho que a AMD precisa para se manter competitiva com a Intel, mas como estes novos produtos se comportarão quando comparados aos processadores Xeon de seis núcleos já lançados pela Intel e os chips Core i7 esperados para o final deste ano? Só o tempo dirá.</p>

Na sucata agora estão o Serramalte e o Brahma, meus computadores da AMD. Ainda tem o computador da minha mãe, que eu batizei de Badenbaden, e o note do trabalho, que se chama Guiness.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Dopo la lunga “siesta” di Barcelona</strong>con i suoi ritardi e problemi, la scelta di AMD di Shanghai come nome della generazione successiva di chip sembra sia stata più fortunata. <strong>La nuova CPU sembra avere ereditato la velocità e l’efficenza della megalopoli che lavora 24 ore su 24 tanto da promettere un arrivo “anticipato” sul mercato per combattere la nuova generazione Intel Nehalem.</strong></p>
<p>Comunque vada a finire gli ”Shanghai” Opteron dovrebbero spingere un poco le prestazioni senza toccare i consumi. Il focus primario di AMD sembra infatti quello di avere un throughput migliore del 20 per cento a parità di clock con Barcelona ma partendo da una frequenza di 3 GHz che non batterà Nehalem Gainstown DP, ma sarà abbastanza vicino ma rimanere in competizione.</p>
<p><strong>Non bisogna dimenticare che al contrario di Nehalem, “Shanghai” sarà subito disponibile nelle versioni MP da 4 e 8 socket, </strong>dove avrebbe il top delle prestazioni, escludendo quel mostro di Intel Dunningtons, per un annetto fino all’arrivo della generazione Beckton Nehalem.</p>
<p>AMD oltre a spingere al massimo sulla velocità deve anche produrre una versione di Shanghai con una velocità in zona 2.6++ GHz sotto gli 80W. Intel ha infatti in produzione un eccellente quad core da 2.66 GHz a basso consumo della serie LV Xeon SKU, e un 2.66 GHz Nehalem potrebbe arrivare in versione da 80W appena dopo il lancio.</p>
<p><strong>Se poi AMD riesce a produrre un 3,2 GHz presto, almeno potrà dire di avere raggiunto le stesse frequenze di Nehalem</strong>, cosa tecnicamente poco rilevante ma molto utile a livello di marketing. Quindi dopo una lunga attesa i prossimi torneranno bollenti nel settore delle CPU ad alte prestazioni. <strong><span> </span></strong></p>

<p class="art_text">AMD ha cominciato ad offrire processori grafici con processo di produzione a 55nm, a partire dal lancio <span style="color:#000000;">della <strong>scheda</strong> <strong>video</strong> HD3800, avvenuto nel Novembre 2007.<br />
<strong>Nvidia</strong> ha adottato anche lei il medesimo processo produttivo questa estate, grazie al lancio della <strong>scheda</strong> <strong>GeForce</strong> 9800GTX+. </span></p>
<p>Cosa si prospetta di nuovo all’orizzonte? Le due case costruttrici avranno sicuramente qualche novità residua nel settore a 55nm, ma molto presto secondo indiscrezioni passeranno a produrre con tecnologia a 40 nm, nel secondo trimestre del prossimo anno.</p>
<p><span style="color:#000000;">Secondo il sito internet Fudzilla, non si conosce ancora il nome in codice del futuro prodotto di <strong>Nvidia</strong> ma si suppone che utilizzerà il processo produttivo TSMC a 40nm e vedrà la luce a fine maggio o inizio giugno. AMD si suppone introdurrà il processore grafico a 40nm RV870, nello stesso intervallo temporale. Questo porrà le due compagnie in una interessante competizione.</p>
<p>La sfida potrebbe lasciare una delle due aziende produttrici con un prodotto nettamente superiore rispetto all'altra, costringendo il rivale ad un duro inseguimento. <strong>Nvidia</strong> in particolare potrebbe dovere rincorrere il concorrente qualora la qualità del prodotto di quest’ultimo sia come il modello Radeon HD4870. Infatti proprio questo modello di <strong>scheda</strong> costrinse <strong>Nvidia</strong> ad una drastica riduzione dei prezzi seguito da un lancio della scheda GeForce GTX 260 in versione aggiornata.</p>

Και οι δυο, βασίζονται στην <strong>RV710 GPU</strong> που κατασκευάζεται σε κλίμακα ολοκλήρωσης <strong>55nm</strong>. Η Radeon HD 4550 διαθέτει <strong>80 stream processors</strong> με την GPU να διαθέτει συχνότητα λειτουργίας <strong>800MHz </strong>και τη μνήμη <strong>800MHz</strong> (1600MHz Double Data Rate). H "μικρότερη" ATI Radeon HD 4350 διαθέτει αντίστοιχα χρονισμούς <strong>600MHz </strong>και <strong>500MHz</strong> (1000MHz Double Data Rate).</p>

<p>Το κόστος στην περίπτωση της ATI Radeon HD 4350 με τα 256MB θα ξεκινάει από τα <strong>$39</strong> ενώ στην περίπτωση της ATI Radeon HD 4550 με τα 512ΜΒ θα ξεκινάει από τα <strong>$55</strong>. Το memory interface και στις δυο περιπτώσεις έχει εύρος<strong> 64-bit </strong>ενώ υποστηρίζεται το DirectX 10.1, οι τεχνολογίες Unified Video Decoder (UVD 2.0) και ATI Avivo HD. Οι δυο νέες low end GPUs της AMD κάνουν χρήση του διαύλου PCI Express 2.0 και καταναλώνουν λιγότερο από <strong>20Watts</strong> σε πλήρη φόρτο.</p>

<p>First, was the key issue of moving virtual machines using VMware's <a href="http://www.vmware.com/products/vi/vc/vmotion.html">VMotion</a> administration tool between AMD and Intel servers. Unable to do so, companies will then have to decide very early on whether to choose between AMD or Intel hardware platforms.</p>
<blockquote><p>"It's possible but under certain conditions [AMD promised to "get back to us" with more details. Comments Margareth?]. But there are also issues in moving virtual machines from Intel to Intel servers", said AMD’s server and workstation division general manager, Patrick Patla.</p></blockquote>
<p>AMD's executive also confirmed that virtualization and virtualized I/O was the #1 driver for the company's push into the server chipset business. Effectively competing with partners like Broadcom or Nvidia that had so far supplied the chipsets for AMD's server processors.</p>
<blockquote><p>"Virtualization is now in our DNA and when we do silicon design or we're thinking of enhancements we always think about what we can do for virtualization<br />

<p>In a briefing this morning in San Francisco, Patrick Patla, the new general manager of AMD’s server and workstation division, confirmed that the Silicon Valley company is already shipping the latest iteration of its Opteron server processor dubbed "Shanghai". The "standard" Shanghai chip will be in OEM machines by year end, but the faster and more power efficient ones will ship in the first quarter of next year.</p>
<blockquote><p>"It's going to be 35% more power efficient than the current generation. It has more memory cache and a faster communications bus [HyperTransport version 3]", explained Patla.</p></blockquote>
<p>The fact that AMD is shipping Shanghai earlier also means that there will only be 6 months at most between the current generation of Opteron and the next one. That tells you how screwed up the Barcelona launch was, leaving AMD less than 6 months to recoup its investment versus the usual year or so.</p>
<p><!--more-->On a more positive note for AMD, Patla explained that unlike Intel, which forces customers to adopt a different server chips and underlying hardware platform (motherboard, chipsets...) for small (dual processor), large (4 or 6 processors) and "venti" (8 processors or more with the upcoming Nehalem) servers, AMD server chip fits them all.</p>
<blockquote><p>"The advantage for customers is that they only have one platform (motherboard, processor and chipset) to qualify for all their servers", added Patla.</p></blockquote>

<p>It seems AMD learned its lesson well from the fail launch of its last major Opteron server chip dubbed "Barcelona" last year. The chipmaker subsequently revamped the way it now tests its chips.</p>
<p>Barcelona was announced last September in great fanfare at the Lucasfilm Studios in San Francisco, but because of a serious "errata" flaw, AMD only shipped it in volume only by the end of Q1 of this year.</p>
<p><!--more-->A major setback for the chipmaker that saw it's server market shares evaporate in favour of Intel's Xeon server chips and resulted in then CEO, Hector Ruiz, resignation to eventually become Chairman of the Sunnyvale, Calif., company.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">"We realised of the bug late in the game. So we made the choice to delay the chip rather than shipping it", said Patrick Patla, the new general manager of AMD's server and workstation division. "We totally reengineered our validation process to make sure this will never happen again. For example, we introduce our partners, both software and hardware, months earlier in the process and in the case of Shanghai, delayed a tape-out [an intermediate version of the chip] for a month to test it even further".</p>

<p><strong>AMD adopts Intel's "Tick-Tock" cadence</strong></p>
<p>For Patla, that we met this morning in San Francisco, one of the main cause of the Barcelona debacle was that the new chip was in itself totally new (at least 80% of it) from the last generation of AMD server chips: a new monolithic quad-core (versus a dual-core) and a new 65-nm process (versus 90-nm).</p>
<p>In effect, with Barcelona, AMD did in a single swoop what Intel usually does in 2 generations with its "Tick-Tock" cadence model. Which was quite insane when I talked to experts in the field.</p>
<blockquote><p>"It was high-risk", admits Patla.</p></blockquote>
<p>Having learned the hard way, AMD is now in lockstep with Intel's "Tick-Tock" model. Shanghai, the successor of Barcelona, will have minor architectural changes but will move to the smaller 45-nm process. Whereas, Shanghai's successor, the 45-nm "Istanbul", will add more features and tweaks to the architecture. Boring maybe, but predictable.</p>

Die Radeon HD 4350 hat einen besonders niedrigen Strombedarf.  AMD gibt die maximale Leistungsaufnahme mit 20 Watt unter Last an.  256 MByte Videospeicher sind an Bord und der RV710-Grafikkchip ist das Herzstück.  Beide Karten sollen in Deutschland ab sofort verfügbar sein. Preise sind nicht bekannt.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>AMD remata la gama más completa que seguramente ha tenido nunca en el mercado de las tarjetas gráficas dedicadas, con el lanzamiento de modelos para la gama baja, que suman a un precio espectacular, características, rendimiento y consumo realmente destacables.<br />

La Radeon 4550 HD, fabricada en procesos de 55 nanómetros al igual que el resto de la serie 4000, llega de serie con frecuencias del núcleo a 600 MHz y memoria a 800 MHz con 256 o 512 Mbytes GDDR3 y ancho de banda de 12,8 GB / s. Refrigerada pasivamente, tiene un TDP de 20 vatios y su precio recomendado de lanzamiento estará entre 45 y 55 dólares.</p>
<p>Soporte Displayport, CrossFire X, DirectX 10.1 y adaptador DVI a HDMI con sonido 7.1 son algunas de las características que la acompañan. AMD afirma que la 4550 es al menos un 20% más potente que la NVIDIA 9400 GT y entregará un rendimiento a resoluciones de 1280×1024 de 30 frames por segundo en juegos populares como Call of Duty 4. Si se cumple este rendimiento, sumado a un precio inferior al de su rival y con la mitad de consumo, NVIDIA debería estar muy preocupada.</p>
<p>La modesta HD 4350 contará con frecuencias de 600/500 MHz respectivamente para núcleo y memoria. Los 256 GB de memoria DDR2 proporcionarán un ancho de banda de memoria de 8,0 GB por segundo. Nada espectacular aunque todo lo contrario que su consumo y precio: 39 dólares.</p>
<p>Con este lanzamiento AMD/ATI cubre ya todos los nichos del mercado con la exitosa serie 4000, destinada a desplazar a NVIDIA del trono de las tarjetas gráficas dedicadas. </p>

<p>I did some research regarding various processors in the market to some processors that have died out because of commercial interests , and the thing is it seems like the alpha which was based on superior technology for the time and a pure RISC 64 bit processor was a winner which due to market forces became the loser , but thats not all now it seems like AMD and intel ( both of them seem to share intellectual property so i am not sure they are competing in the true sense of the word ) are completely in the X86 domain and RISC has been harboured into the embedded systems domain as it's extremely fast and less complicated than x86 based embedded processors ( consumes less power too )</p>
<p>Okay so if i am a embedded engineer and i specialize on the MIPS based processors wouldn't i like to have a compatible desktop environment to compile and test compilers and programs before i can reduce the size to suit embedded needs , what about building native compilers and running them on a cluster based system so that your programs are compiled faster and we don't have to wait for hours ... to see the results and change them ... now thats productivity ...</p>
