It's been a long time- sorry I've been MIA. 

Keith is gone from Bravo's Project Runway! Can't say I'm too shocked because he kind of shot himself in the foot. Like Michael Kors told him, you can't blame the model and the critics. Especially when the judges never even told him that he needed to try "simple" wearable clothes...

P.S. LeAnne has definitely been one of my faves from day one! Here's hoping she will show her collection at New York Fashion Week.

As for CBS' Big Brother, Michelle and Ollie are out. Anybody else think it was extremely obvious that was going to happen? As for Keesha, she is getting on my nerves more and more with each passing episode. Not to mention that hasn't she gained a bit of weight?

MTV's The Hills was fascinating as always. There is still tension between that witch Lo and Audrina. And in the most produced move on a reality show ever, Speidi showed up at Stephanie Pratt's birthday when Lauren was there. If there is even the slightest chance that this actually did happen in real life, did Lauren really think that Stephanie would invite her and not invite her own brother?

You are the recipients of a American Idol Top 10 Idol show tonight and tomorrow. Hmmmm - I wonder how this happened? I wonder?

Oh yes, indeed! This year's winner - David Cook - hails from Blue Springs, Missouri, a 20-minute car ride away from the heart of Kansas City.

So call me crazy, but I think that the Kansas City fans must be extremely excited in anticipation of tonight's and tomorrow's show. This is a Cookie homecoming of sorts and what a great moment in time this must be for him and his family.

I look forward to hearing and seeing all the videos and recaps tomorrow and reviewing the performances of Cookie and the rest of the Top 10 singers.

Tutor: A Bass Guitarist is one who ... sigh ... never mind. For now let's say you are not the Bass Guitarist, just use this thin pick.

Hence, I stopped learning music and got married. Well, It doesn't sound exactly like that but me being useless in music learning and the "Thick Pick" incident part is 100% true. Everything else is masala mix.

I made a second attempt with a M-Audio Keystation Keyboard connected to my Mac and tried to learn rolling my fingers on the keyboard with the aid of a Mac software called Garage Band. This time I wanted to learn music the right way by trying to understand the Musical Staff notations. Only, Whenever I saw the staff notation, all I could remember was spaghetti. But Hey, I learnt to play the Happy Birthday song somehow, that is a progress right? Time went on and I didn't go back to the music lessons and have kept the Keyboard aside hoping my daughter would pick it up and learn to play someday or may be we will learn it together. Otherwise I have to use it as a Surf board.

My learning of music remained ephemeral. Finally, I learnt to play 2 more songs. Row, Row, Row your boat and Twinkle Twinkle on my daughter's ... ahem ... Xylophone. This is the relationship between me, music and learning. You can see how dull that is.

But with Garage Band, it is very easy to compose music. Even people like me who have little to no knowledge of music can easily put together the loops of music available in the software and come up with scores that sound good.

Now, Coming to the post ( This is probably one of those post that has 90% introduction blah! and then 10% actual content) I made a Haiku called Color of Wisdom. What color will wisdom be? (no not the Wisdom tooth!).

If you would of told me when I was in graduate school that I would be working as a personal attendant for a senior citizen I would have looked at you in disbelief. My aspirations were never to end up cleaning fecal matter from a leathery rear end or cooking food for someone else that I was not allowed to eat. I was sure that by now I would be working as a published Writer or a college Professor, but little did I know, that like most other Americans at this particular juncture in history- I would fall upon hard times.

"What one does for a living or how much money you have in your bank account is not what matters at all- it is how you feel about your life inside that is where true wealth is to be found," he told me. Even though he was a man who claimed to be turning to glass, G's (I do not want to use his real name) philosophical perspectives made some semblance of sense to me. He spent almost 24 hours of his day confined to his single iron rod bed which was edged against a corner window. G would look out into his concrete garden and grow frustrated over his inability to remember his past. "When a man is turning to glass- the memory is the first thing to freeze."

G believed that his feet had already turned to glass. A blue colored glass. He was afraid that if he got out of bed his feet would shatter into tiny little shards. Day by day he would complain about how slowly his legs and arms where turning into glass- and it was only a matter of time before he cracked. Whenever I would turn him on his side or lift up his head he suffered the most terrifying fear because he thought that these subtle movements would be the end of him. When I asked him when his transformation into glass began he told me that it started many years before.

G had always had a fear of turning to glass. Ever since he was in his early thirties he suffered a perpetualstoedp exercising by the age of 30 because he was afraid that any high intensity movements may cause him to crack. Even though it was obvious to every one around G that he was hardly glass, deep down he knew that this fate was inevitable. He would wear several layers of pants and shirts to protect his flesh against the dangers of being broken. By the time G was forty his life had become such a maelstrom of fear that he was incapable of earning a living. feeling of impending doom. He

When I came into G's life he was 82 years old. Only his feet had turned to glass but he was convinced that his end was near. "I make every moment of every hour count. I do not fill myself with specialities. Instead I take great pleasure in my confinement because I am completely content with where I am," he would often tell me. When I told him about my economic hardships and failed dreams he would always say that none of that stuff matters, he would point towards my heart and say- "it is in there that matters most."

Yes the heart. The heart has been a difficult organ for me to occupy. I have always been so caught up in the chattering expectations of my mind or the lustful perambulations of my genitals. This is how my American culture has trained me to be and when it comes to thinking with my heart, I often find this troubling to do. Even though my heart shouts out with chest pains, palpitations, flutters and other strange sensations- I still seem addicted to my mind and cock. I have practiced meditation and tried to sow love wherever I go- but I get so caught up in the temptations of my mind that I forget what it is that really matters.

"When I was your age I was working as an Architect and I had it all," G told me. "I had money, houses, a wife, a good job. I drank, traveled and wore the best quality clothes. But I drank too much. I slept with prostitutes, I was greedy and something inside of me was clogged up. My lingering cloud of impending doom followed me wherever I went, but to compensate for my despair I drank and had sex. Slowly my soul began to turn to glass and this is when my fear set in that I was in danger of cracking. It is not what you do that matters, but how you do it. It is not how much money you have that matters but how you think about what you do have that matters most," G would say before stating that he needed to stop speaking before he broke his jaw.

I worked for G for a month. I made him lunch and dinner, tea and I cared for his three black cats. He payed me enough to be able to take my wife out for dinner once a week and have enough left over to exterminate the flees that seem to be now absent from my mind. It was a good month that was destined to end. I went to work one morning and found G splintered all over the floor by the side of his bed. He was broken up into thousands of little pieces of blue glass. I must admit that I was stunned because I did not fully believe that G was turning into glass. Even though he often complained about his fear of cracking and was terrified to move his body too much- I thought this was all just the eccentric delusions of an old man. As I sweeped up the shards of glass besides his bed and put them into a terracotta pot I remembered what he had told me the night before. "If you ever feel like writing a story about our experience together," he said- "make sure you call it The Confessions Of A Man Who Turned To Glass."

1. Women who act like sexual traffic cops
This means women who tell their man how to do things while in the act. For example, Take my shirt off slowly, now take my necklace off, no no you're going to fast, run your hands thru my hair, no you're doing it to fast, etc. Yes ladies there are women out there who do these things. In my surveys men really hated this. There's a difference in sharing how you feel about sex and what you like and being a traffic cop.

2. Dead women in bed (Women who are unresponsive in bed)
This is pretty self explanatory. There are many women who lie in bed while their man does all the work. In the old days that was how it was suppose to be. But today it is a hole new ball game. Men like for their women to respond and men deserve a little something out of his woman when making love. This was the number one complaint men had in the survey.

3. Women who don't take care of themselves
This applies mainly to married women. I know we have all been guilty a time of two of letting ourselves go when we are married. How many of you have said "We're married now, I don't have to impress him"? Oh ladies, it seems our men think differently about that. In the survey men seem to be really turned off when his women let her self go. For example, not shaving often, never fixing their hair, wearing panties with holes in them, bad breath, chipped fingernail polish, vaginal odor, etc. So take a little time out for yourself and keep yourself up.

4. Women who constantly put themselves and their body down
Learn to love your body ladies. This drives your man crazy. They get tired of hearing us complain about our flaws and everything else. If they didn't like our bodies and who we are, they wouldn't be with us. It really turns your man off after we complain day in and day out.

5. Women who only care about a man's financial status
I know some of you are saying "That is the last thing on my mind", But there are some women who sleep with a man only for his money. Men are really turned off by that and you can't really blame them. I think that is just cruel. Sleeping with a man for his money is sad.

6. Women who talk about former lovers
This seems to be really annoying to men and can you really blame them. Don't share your history of former lovers with your new lover. If you were in his shoes, you wouldn't want to hear about his former girlfriends.

7. Women who wear ugly underwear
No two men are alike and their taste in underwear are not the same as the next man. Some men think the new boxer type underwear are ugly while some think thongs are ugly. It all depends on your man. Talk to your man and ask him what he likes. According to the survey, underwear play a big part in turnoffs for men.

8. Women who talk to much in bed
This was a little weird to me because I don't see where discussing bills, while making love to your man, could possibly turn anyone on. However there are many people who do it and men reported this as a major turn off. So ladies discuss bills and stuff when you're not in bed with your man.

9. Women who fake it
Well I think we have all been guilty of this a time or two. At some point in our life we have faked it in order to keep our man from feeling guilty or feeling like there was something wrong with him. Apparently men would rather be told that you just can't get in the mood, than fake it. Sometimes us ladies just have so much on our mind that we can't seem to get in the love making mood and according to my survey most men understand that. So ladies next time you can't get in the mood, simply explain to your man what is going on instead of faking it. Men that new their women really well said they can tell when their women is faking it.

10. Women who never initiate sex
This turn off can go with number two in a way. In the old days it was always appropriate for a man to initiate sex, to make the first move, etc. But this is a whole new world ladies. Our men want us to initiate sex from time to time and make the first move. For some women it is hard because believe it or not we have been taught that the man is suppose to make the first move. Not anymore. So ladies get with the program and give your man that special night where you start and give him mid blowing pleasure.

There are many more thing that turn men off but these are the top ten in our survey. As I said before, no two men are alike, so all of these may not apply to your man. Don't be shy, ask your man what turns him off and on. The more you know, the closer you will be. Opening up to your lover can make a world of difference in your relationship. Don't get offended by what he says. The point is, he is being honest and those are his true feelings.

Jayden: I’m doing great, but excuse my curiosity, can you tell me what the fuck is a soulmate? Aren’t these people nut cases you want to run away from?

Love Goddess: Typically, the real nut cases are the jealous ones surrounding the soulmates who foolishly think that since there's no soulmate for them, they're going to make sure there isn't one for anybody.

America: I’m with Love Goddess on this. I believe a soulmate is a gift that not many people are lucky enough to experience simply because they're not ready to recognize it or they allow others to make decisions for them without following their heart. 

Love Goddess: That's true America. Essentially a soulmate is the one person who you have a deep connection with and truly cares about you. The person who will do right by you no matter the circumstances; they come into your life to help you. It could be a friend, parent, sibling, or a love interest. Some people have multiple soulmate relationships in their lives, some have one or two, some believe they have none, and as they believe it is done to them. 

Jayden: When it comes to romance, how exactly are you supposed to recognize these goody love givers?

America: You just know. Sometimes they know too, and other times they’ll never know.

Jayden: Oh, that's pretty fucking comforting, sometimes we know and other times we're fucked? So I can pretty much end up with a fucking loonytune who's not gonna love me or care about me and I won't even know it. Shit, I better learn how to recognize my soulmate.

Love Goddess: Well Jayden, the fact is that soulmates are going to come into your life no matter what, whether you are able to recognize them or not is a different story. You are in this life to learn your lessons not to eat, work, and sleep. You’ll either have a great or a marginal experience. Besides, don't worry about ending up with a looneytune, your soulmate will put her in checkmate before looneytune realizes that she might of had you physically, but you were never there mentally or spiritually.     

Jayden: That's good to know, but I’m having a real fucking problem with all of this because I heard that a soulmate comes into your life to piss you off, take out your dirty laundry, and then take off. Why do I need that kinda shit in my life as if I don't already have enough crap to deal with?

Love Goddess: The person you are describing is not a soulmate, but someone you chose to allow into your life against your own knowing. That was your choice and nothing to do a soulmate. You need to take responsibility for that rather than blaming soulmates.

Jayden: Okay, but what about your parents and siblings. It's not like you have a choice there?

Love Goddess: No you don’t, but those are the only relationships you must endure good or bad because they carry the lessons you're here to learn to prepare you for what's ahead of you as painful as they may be. The fact that they are your family is a huge hint to let you know to work through them. Sometimes there are difficult choices to make, but that's the whole point, you need to make them. You also have to understand that you are not the only person in the universe and that those people you happen to find yourself involved with also have lessons to learn. You can learn to look at the positive aspects of everything or you can choose to look at the negative in everything. It’s your choice, therefore you do have choice when it comes to romantic partners and the people you choose to surround yourself with.

Jayden: So can you tell me why would someone who’s your soulmate come into your life and then leave, if this person is supposed to be for me?

Love Goddess: Life is not that simple Jayden, soulmates aren’t martyrs looking for sympathy or to be second best. These are people who mean business, they are looking to truly live life in a sane and big way and if you have not decided that you want that, then you’re not their soulmate. People often mistake their soulmate for someone else. That’s pretty common. But as long as they are doing the right thing, the path will lead them to their soulmate, make no mistake about that, love is blind, but not inhuman.

When I was younger, I had dreams of following in the footsteps of Black or Eszterhas, selling spec scripts for upwards of $3 million. In college, I bragged that I was going to become the Puff Daddy of Hollywood -- whatever that meant -- and take over the game. I almost came close once, actually. But then again, who hasn't "almost come close," right? Now that I'm older and wiser, however, I've come to accept that I may not sell that million dollar spec. It's not going to stop me from trying, but now my focus is more on honing my craft and writing so well that I'm offered assignments. So far, so ... well ... just so.

I'm currently working on something. Along with my writing partner T.S. Johnson, who maintains quite a few blogs over there in my Blogroll including the ever popular Brown Sugar, I've been working on a feature film treatment that, for the purposes of this blog, we'll call Monkey Business. Miss Johnson met with an indie producer down in Florida who didn't pitch an idea so much as give elements he wanted to see in a story. Some very silly elements, but whatevs. He's the money man, he's paying us to come up with something, so in the words of Young Jeezy, let's get it.

So we got it. A week after the initial meeting, Miss Johnson and I composed a pretty good story idea incorporating the elements and themes Mr. Producer wanted to explore. Sure, the actual logistics of the story needed working out, but the basic plot was there and as far as I'm concerned, that's all you need. I'm a big believer in the axiom that states if you know your ending, the story will write itself.

But Mr. Producer wasn't happy. And apparently he brought in another party who agreed that the direction we took the story wasn't where they wanted to go. Okay, then, nigga, well what do you want?

He tells us. Again, keeping the same elements and exploring the same themes but this time Mr. Producer is a little more explicit what he wants. So, it's back to the drawing board. Except Miss Johnson and I have no fucking idea where to go with this. Remember, it's a silly idea we're dealing with. And not Police Academy or Moving Violations silly -- no, this is I can't believe this is what he really wants us to write about silly.

This time, Miss Johnson and I divvied up the tasks. Based on what we had to work with, she devised a plot and framework, I created the characters. We meshed the components together, making sure all of the pieces fit together organically, and viola! we had another awesome treatment ready to hand in.

As of this writing, I'm not sure how Mr. Producer is going to react to the new idea we've come up with. But I can definitely say that this has been quite the crash course in dealing with someone who has no clue what the creative process entails but thinks they know more than you, the creative individual they hired for the gig. It reminds me of Kevin Smith's Superman Reborn debacle with the giant spider. Miss Johnson and I have joked that Monkey Business is our giant spider.

All in all, I think our silly idea can actually become something substantial. A fine piece of entertainment, a pithy and observant social commentary. Truth be told, I'm aching to move past this stage and get on with the writing. Until then, I'm still hammering away at my own stuff. Rewriting, polish, and starting new specs. To appropriate a phrase used by my homegirl SG, I can't sell it if I don't write it. So I'm writin' it.

Just wanted to vent. Thanks for reading. :)

"Joey " The Hybrid" Duarte is one of 32 fighters who will be vying to for 16 spots on this coming season's "The Ultimate Fighter" series on Spike TV. Only 24 years old, Duarte specializes in the Jiu jitsu and Muay Thai of Martial Arts fighting.

The new season will start on Wednesday, September 17th.  Spike TV just announced that  UFC heavyweight champion, Antonio Rodrigo Noqueira and former UFC heavywieght champion Frank Mir will start in the new seaon as coaches.  There will be  light heavyweights (205 lbs) and lightweights (155 lbs).  Duarte will is competing for a slot in the lightwieght division.

Season 8 is being hyped as one with the best talent pool of fighters that The Ultimate Fighter has had in any season. Speaking to all of this,  the following is an exccerpt from an article that ran in the Pacific Daily News on August 29,2008:

"I could never compare myself to Anderson," Duarte said after being asked if he was the fighter in question. "Anderson is at the top of the food chain. ... I don't feel worthy (of that status)," he said.

Silva himself is rumored to make an appearance on the show, but the identity of the fighter White is hyping up will have to wait until the series premiere.

"I can't say it was me or anyone else, but I can say this: no one, no one is an 'Anderson Silva-type fighter.' No one is that good," Duarte said. The former Dededo resident did, however, say that this season has by far the deepest talent pool ever on the show.

"I can't tell you much else because I don't have $4 million to pay UFC (for breaching his contract)," Duarte said with a laugh.

Though talent is a factor, living in California has helped Duarte make his way up the MMA totem pole as he trains with the likes of TUF season one winner Diego Sanchez and WBC and WBO middleweight boxing champion Joey Gilbert.

"With the exposure you get (from being on a national TV show), it moves you up to the front of the line and you get a sense of notoriety that even some champions don't get," Gilbert said via telephone. Gilbert himself is a product of national fame after appearing on NBC's "The Contender."

"I'm really excited for him. Joe is a really smart and great fighter, and even though a lot of doors are open already, this can unlock all the doors for him," Gilbert said.

"It's happening to the right person. I'm lucky to have a friend like Joe. When you find people like him, you have to hang on to them."

 Duarte is a native Chamorro and originally lived in Dededo, Guam and was involved as an athlete at Simon Sanchez High School.  He now lives in California.
