This game redefines science fiction survival horror, in space, with unique limb-detachment features. Shoot a bad guy in the head? He'll swipe his limbs around till he hits you. SOCOM: Confrontation - October 14, 2008 For PS3 (Exclusive)

The SOCOM series has been gathering a great fanbase ever since the original. This one takes all of that and throws in a bunch of new features, better graphics, larger maps and a hungry fanbase. I've played the closed beta and was very satisfied with the way things were looking. It's strategic style is a nice change of pace from typical shooters. If you decide to get this, which I strongly recommend, get the headset bundle, you'll save yourself $30 over if you bought the headset separately and you will get a great official Sony bluetooth headset. Now what are you waiting for? Make some calls, get online and co-ordinate. Runnin' and Gunnin' will get you dropped like a fool!

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows - October 21, 2008 For Either Xbox360 or PS3

Let's look at some basic truths. Comic book based video games do not do too well. However, there are some games which get their balls together and decide to stand up to modern day expectations and technical standards. The graphics and gameplay seem to be much improved. There is now a focus on the combat more-so than on swinging around wasting a lot of time. Wolverine and other superheroes will make their appearances, as well as a fair share of bad guys (Electro, King Pin, Venom). I'm not one to hold high expectations for a spiderman game, as past versions have dissapointed, but I do believe we have ourselves a winner this time!

Midnight Club: Los Angeles - October 21, 2008 For Either Xbox360 or PS3

Sure, Burnout Paradise is a great game. However, it is lacking some cool features. One of which is the ability to customize your ride. Well, look no further, Midnight Club LA looks to take what Burnout Paradise has started and pushed it to the next level. Let's face it, the best shooter we have seen is Crysis, but that has never been available to console gamers. Now Far Cry 2 gives you hope. The graphics are simply amazing and you have the ability to create your own maps, right out of the box. With both online and offline modes, you just cannot lose if you buy this game. You are free to roam and kill in a large landscape (50km) in whatever manner pleases you. Do you want to go stealth? Go ahead, snipe their brains out. Do you want to strap up and run into the heat of battle? Go ahead soldier. Do it your way, but first buy this game.

Music games, shooting games, horror games, racing games. Yes, we have seen it all and done it all. It can get old after some time. So for anyone looking to just have pure unadulterated fun, this game is right for you. Create your own levels, with or without friends and play with ... or... without friends. Upload your level onto the internet for all to play on and rate and rate other players' levels as well. The types of levels you can create and things you can do in LBP are literally endless. No.. seriously.. I recently saw a video where someone made a Mirror's Edge level. I have some insane ideas for levels and no.. they do not include a giant Penis like some of the levels already floating out there. Initial reviews are looking stellar and there is simply no equivalent to this game. It bends all genres.

Motorstorm Pacific Rift - October 28, 2008 For PS3 (Exclusive)

I have to admit that the first Motorstorm didn't feel right when I first played it. It felt like I should have been going faster and overtaking people quicker. I was wrong. I wasn't using the boost feature, nor was I using the best terrain for my vehicle. Learn your routes and how to properly use your juice (not manjuice) and you will have a ton of fun with this game. The second one improves in every aspect. If the desert atmosphere of the first game bored you, well get out your party hats, because now you can race your monster truck through lush jungles and volcanoes.

Fallout 3 - October 28, 2008 For Xbox360 (Exclusive DLC in Future)

It's an RPG with over 100 hours of gameplay, with guns in a post apocolyptic environment. Okay.. right now I'm thinking of another sentence or more details to add, but all I can tell you is to keep re-reading that first sentence.... That's says it all. With the shortage of RPG's out there, and with the proven quality of Bethesda, and initial reviews which are calling it GOTY already... you know you cant go wrong. It's a work of art.

Ik, als gelegenheidsgamer kon het natuurlijk niet laten om Dark Ink te gaan spelen.

Het verhaal van Dark Ink in een nutshell
Als ik de redelijk vage intro interpreteer is de wereld in crisis. In het begin der tijden was er een grote stad die verwoest werd door de Dark Ink. De Dark Ink komt aan zijn kwaadaardige krachten door inkt uit bibliotheek boeken te stelen. Dan staat er een held op. Jij, Tannic wil de Dark Ink voor goed verslaan. Samen met jouw sidekick Inge, een virtuele internet vriendin gaan jullie de kwade krachten te lijf. Op het pad naar de vrede komen Tannic en Inge vele inktmonsters tegen die zij moeten verslaan. Door deze inktmonsters naar het hiernamaals te sturen verkrijgen zij informatie die later nodig is om raadsels op te lossen van de RiddleMaster.

Design
Het spel heeft een middeleeuws sfeertje, stenen pleinen, grote houten tonnen, oude huisjes en natuurlijk de klederdracht van held Tannic. De game is op en top fantasy met zwaarden, een vreemde RiddleMaster, Inge die op een lijkbleke spook lijkt, en de kwaadaardige imp volgelingen van de Dark Ink. Een erg leuke setting die jongeren

zeker aanspreekt.
Ook is er goed nagedacht over de achtergrond muziek. Eén nummer klinkt lekker middeleeuws de andere geeft een lekkere energie stoot!

Gameplay
Een echte gamer hoef je niet te zijn om dit spel te spelen. Je hebt maar een paar controls die gebruikt hoeven te worden. De enige controls die je hebt zijn controls voor het lopen, vechten en praten. Dark Ink doet mij denken aan een hack and slash game met een beetje adventure.

Nu komt het “Ik snap er niets van!!” gedeelte.
Tijdens het spelen van de game kwam liep ik tegen een groot aantal problemen op. Hieronder een opsomming.

Het doel
Het doel van de game wordt niet echt duidelijk in het spel. De intro is erg vaag en tijdens de tutorial wordt alleen uitgelegd hoe je moet vechten. Hier zou ook het doel van het spel kunnen worden uitgelegd.

Speelbaarheid
Dark Ink is echt onspeelbaar op een redelijk oude computer. Tijdens het spelen van de game op mijn laptop had ik constant last van wat gamers zeggen “lag.” Het spel is heel traag. Het verslaan van de inktmonsters gaat dan ook erg langzaam. Waar je normaal twee slagen voor nodig hebt duurt dan ontelbare slagen.

“Kijk ik kan door muren en door de lucht lopen.”
Ga nooit van de grijze stenen naar de bruine stenen, want voor je het weet bevind je je in een muur of nog erger buiten het beeld. Ik ben al tallen keren verdwaald geraakt, doordat ik me buiten de grijze paden bevond. Niet doen dus ;-).
Dit fenomeen over en door dingen lopen dat eigenlijk niet kan of niet zou mogen doet me denken aan de game Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08, waar Tiger Woods als een ware Jezus over het water kan lopen. EA de ontwikkelaar van het spel loste het op een grappige manier op:

Er zijn nog een paar kleine dingetjes zoals dat er maar twee nummers op de achtergrond worden gespeeld, wel erg lekkere nummers om naar te luisteren. Maar het gaat vervelen op den duur. Verder heb ik geen idee hoe de raadsels opgelost moeten worden. Tannic zegt steeds dat Inge geraadpleegd moet worden, maar of Inge is weer eens nergens te bekennen of ze vliegt een beetje rond zonder dat je haar aan kan spreken.

Dus iedereen die mij kan helpen met het uitspelen van de “tweede” level Trading District please tell me! Cheats zijn natuurlijk ook welkom ;-).

Tot slot moet ik zeggen dat ik het een heel erg leuk idee vind om jongeren mediawijs te laten worden door te gamen. Het idee van Dark Ink is, denk ik ook zeer geschikt voor de doelgroep. Ook vind ik het knap hoe deze game tot stand is gekomen. Ergens heb ik gelezen dat het gemaakt is in 6 maanden tijd. Ik doe het niet na! Ik zie daarom ook graag de volledige game verschijnen.

Can you remember a time when a presidential candidate inspired art? Artists, designers, illustrators, are creating an incredible body of work. I came across this blog today that captures the Obama art movement. It’s called the Obama Art Report.

Obama imagery is showing up in the strangest of places. Last weekend, Dwayne and I went bowling at Sea Bowl in Pacifica. On the way out I spotted Plush Obama in in an arcade game.

Electronic Arts said on Monday that it has two expansions to the recently released game Spore in development.

Spore is the latest game from Will Wright, which among other things, created "The Sims". Here you'll create your own creature entirely at the cellular level and then more and more developing through different stages. It ends with that you have an entire galactic civilization to take care of.

To offer even more choice will be the 18th November release expansion package "Creepy & Cute Party Pack". In this package, please take note of 60 new parts, 100 new items and 24 new animations in your attempt to create the perfect creature.

They will also release an expansion of the space age in the game. With this package, the space veterans have lots of new things to do. Among other things, will be able to construct assignments for each other in a so-called "Adventure Creator." This expansion is released but not until next year.

Gli hardcore gamer avranno sicuramente da ridire: dopo la fatica ad abituarsi al look e alle insolite tattiche della trilogia del tempo, adesso ci sarà da abituarsi nuovamente al look da "Prince of Tenchu" (scusate, non potevo resistere...) e a un gameplay quasi totalmente riprogettato, ma non per questo più difficile da apprezzare, anzi.

Questa volta il tempo c'entra ben poco: la storia viene introdotta come una comunissima battaglia tra luce e oscurità; è la nuova Persia che fà strabuzzare gli occhi, combinata alla grafica in Cel Shading ad alta definizione. Il principe potrà ancora disporre delle tecniche viste in precedenza; otterrà l'aiuto di una new entry denominata Elika, della quale ho apprezzato particolarmente il character design (ci eravamo un po' stufati di Farah), che gli permetterà di effettuare combo in lotta e di raggiungere zone altrimenti inaccessibili; il guanto, nuova e misteriosa arma che riconosceremo sulla copertina del gioco, otterrà power-up e gli permetterà di ottenere ulteriori poteri (ma io preferivo la catena, magari...), saranno presenti nuove trappole e una caterva di nuovi nemici.

Un platform che, obiettivamente, soddisferà gran parte dei giocatori. Che sia la base di una nuova trilogia? Questo è ancora da scoprire.

Su Nintendo DS vedremo uscire contemporaneamente una sorta di spin off: il Principe, super-deformed, si fà breccia tra sublimi miscele di 2D e 3D. Il gameplay sarà incentrato completamente sul touch screen e si prepara a incendiare la nostra fidata stilo.

Questa volta, a far compagnia al Principe, non sarà un'affascinante e agile supergnocca, ma un maghetto che, per rendersi utile e non finire trivellato dagli artigli, libererà la via al main character con le sue numerose magie. PoP: The Fallen King vuole essere un ritorno nostalgico alle origini e allo stesso tempo portare innovazioni all'esperienza di gioco, e se parliamo di innovazione, Nintendo alza la manina.

Le novità sul principe più amato di tutti i tempi non finiscono qui: le mani esperte di A.B. Sina, LeUyen Pham e Alex Puvilland, sotto l'attenta supervisione del "papino" Jordan Mechner, ci porteranno indietro nel tempo fino alle origini del mito, con una graphic novel di tutto rispetto che approccerà tra gli scaffali delle nostre fumetterie nell'immediato futuro. Una sorta di Prince of Persia Zero, che possiamo pregustare già da adesso sul sito ufficiale.

Non ne avete avute abbastanza? Allora precipitatevi da adesso al vostro cinema di fiducia per prenotare un biglietto per l'ancora lontano 28 Maggio 2010: Walt Disney Pictures e Jerry Bruckheimer Films porteranno sul maxischermo la storia di Prince of Persia: Le Sabbie del Tempo, diretta da Mike Newell! Attualmente le riprese sono in corso tra l'Inghilterra e il Marocco, dove il set è stato montato sotto supervisione di Jordan Mechner (sì, sempre lui, per fortuna!), offertosi di curare le scenografie. Il principe sarà interpretato da Jake Gyllenhaal, volto già conosciuto tramite Donnie Darko, The Day After Tomorrow, The Proof e I Segreti di Brokeback Mountain, per citarne solo alcuni.

E dopo tutte queste notizie non rimane altro che la solita snervante attesa...

• Hanoi Plus

このゲーム、幾つも積み重なってる石を左から右に移すというゲームで、ルールとして大きい石は小さい石の上には置けないというのがある。やり始めると結構面白くてハマるんだけど、少しやってコツをつかんでくると、あとは石の数が増えてくだけで延々とやり続けなきゃいけない。。。

単調すぎて個人的にはイマイチだったけど、まぁ無料だからね。とりあえず落としとくのもいいかも。

トレーニングのお伴的なアプリだけど、会社の行き帰りに歩く際に起動しておけば色々と記録してくれるかなと期待して購入（無料だけど :) ）。実際に使うとしても明日以降だけど、音楽聴きながらでも使えるならキープかな？それにしても、通常1200円が無料になってるってのもスゴい！

-> 今USのApp Storeのレビューを見てるけど、かなり評価が高い。走りながら音楽も聴けるし、トレーニング中に電話がかかってきても一時停止出来るそうだ。毎日走るような人にはかなり価値がありそう♪
