Beer...Guy's best friend...On a lazy sunday , a guy just require chilled beer..if the snacks are complementing beer,a picture perfect situation :-) What else you need..

Somehow , I have seen very less percentage of gals enjoying beer..I love fruit beer and ciders instead!! But yes , nothing beats a glass of fresh brewed beer :-) Yum is the right word..

I tasted Paulaner's ale tho I missed to take lager..It was smooth tho little strong..And yes it was not bitter..( we gals find beer bitter !!! ) I went to Paulaner(Singapore) wid my gang..we wanted to have snacks which should be light on stomach and gel wid it..so we ordered fish fries and french fries wid hot cheese...

Before i forget,in germany i saw people enjoying beer with sandwiches and burgers..( their expressions showed dat dey were loving it .....) :-)

Is there a place in Pune which only sells BEER ..Beer and only beer..with different flavors and amazing variety of snacks..No..:-( I am really bored of the same menu..tandoori , fries , kebabs :-( I love to experiment with snacks )and feel why pub owners do not understand to have special menu which will go well with beer...

Many of my friends suggested go to "Toons" ..It will give me the feeling of Beer Bar..:-) It is a chilled out place no doubt about that...but it was not maintained properly and service was pathetic..I thot lemme try eggs and burger wid beer..I wished burger should have been made the way a burger is made so that atleast i should have enjoyed the way germans do it !!!!

So which pub gets 10 on 10 by beer lovers ?? I am still raking my brains to find an answer..

Joyce Gordon Gallery hosted a special exhibition of urban street art from Oakland's TCB Crew over this past weekend.  Bay Area aerosol artists, dancers, curators and friends came out to check the canvases, drawings, installations and clothing painted by veteran artists Refa One, Toons One and Chris Herod aka MadHatter. Graffiti and street art have been getting play on the gallery circuit for years but the show was a first for the Gordon Gallery.  There's talk of similar shows, more involved shows in the future and judging from the reception at the reception, A Joyce Gordon Graffiti Gallery might not be such a bad idea.  Check the photos if you missed it.-kwan

For many years, reality was out of vogue with Republicans. They ignored the reality of Iraq and Katrina, of Pakistan and Osama bin Laden.

When confronted with their colossal carelessness around the globe and here at home, their mantra was, as Rummy put it, “Stuff happens.”

Now reality, in all its messy, crazy, funky glory, has flooded the party, in the comely, crackling form of Sarah Palin.

Unable to stop the onslaught of wild soap opera storylines erupting from the Palin family and the Alaska wilderness, McCain campaign adviser Steve Schmidt offered caterwauling reporters a new mantra: “Life happens.”

Indeed, it does. Only four days into her reign as John McCain’s “soul mate,” or “Trophy Vice,” as some bloggers are calling her, on the ticket known as “Maverick Squared,” Palin, the governor of Alaska, has already accrued two gates (Troopergate and Broken-watergate), a lawyer (for Troopergate), a future son-in-law named Levi (a high school ice hockey player, described by New York magazine as “sex on skates”), and a National Enquirer headline about the “Teen Prego Crisis” with 17-year-old daughter Bristol.

It seems like a long time since Vice President Dan Quayle denounced Murphy Brown for having a baby out of wedlock, bemoaning a “poverty of values.” It also seems like a long time — and another McCain ago — that Republicans supporting W. smeared the old John McCain by spreading rumors that he had fathered an illegitimate black child.

The Democrats need to be careful about the intensity of their criticism of Sarah Palin.

She may look like an easy target, an appalling lightweight who will send serious voters scurrying to the more substantive Obama-Biden ticket. And the temptation to get on her case probably became greater with Ms. Palin’s disclosure Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.

But the Democrats should not push this stuff too far. Ms. Palin is a lot more appealing personally than the often testy guy at the top of her ticket. And the inescapable reality is that there are millions of voters who identify with her, and may be quick to resent attacks that they perceive as bullying or overkill.

Here’s the deal: Palin is the latest G.O.P. distraction. She’s meant to shift attention away from the real issue of this campaign — the awful state of the nation after eight years of Republican rule. The Republicans are brilliant at distractions. Willie Horton was a distraction. The chatter about gays, guns and God has been a long-running distraction. And we all remember the Swift-boat campaign.

If you want a real issue, forget all of the above and revisit Monday’s front page of The New York Times. Hundreds of families are being forced out of their homes each month in Louisville, Ky., because of mortgage foreclosures. With record numbers of poor and homeless students, the public schools are struggling.

The crisis has only been made worse by fiscal difficulties facing the schools. Higher energy and other costs, combined with a $43 million cut in state aid, have left the school system in a sorry state.

The reason this should be high on the presidential campaign agendas is that the problems in Louisville are widespread. As Sam Dillon of The Times reported: “As 50 million children return to classes across the nation, crippling increases in the price of fuel and food, coupled with the economic downturn, have left schools from California to Florida to Maine cutting costs.”

After watching the short claymation film Chainsaw Maid from The Digg Reel (subscribe here), I knew that I had to share it. Claymation has always had a place in my heart starting with Gumby and Penny (from Pee Wee's Playhouse) and more recently with Knox toons, but this is quite different... and much more violent.

The guilty pleasure I miss most when I’m out slogging on the campaign trail is the chance to sprawl on the chaise and watch a vacuously spunky and generically sassy chick flick.

So imagine my delight, my absolute astonishment, when the hokey chick flick came out on the trail, a Cinderella story so preposterous it’s hard to believe it’s not premiering on Lifetime. Instead of going home and watching “Miss Congeniality” with Sandra Bullock, I get to stay here and watch “Miss Congeniality” with Sarah Palin.

Sheer heaven.

It’s easy to see where this movie is going. It begins, of course, with a cute, cool unknown from Alaska who has never even been on “Meet the Press” triumphing over a cute, cool unknowable from Hawaii who has been on “Meet the Press” a lot.

Americans, suspicious that the Obamas have benefited from affirmative action without being properly grateful, and skeptical that Michelle really likes “The Brady Bunch” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” reject the 47-year-old black contender as too uppity and untested.

Instead, they embrace 72-year-old John McCain and 44-year-old Sarah Palin, whose average age is 58, a mere two years older than the average age of the Obama-Biden ticket. Enthusiastic Republicans don’t see the choice of Palin as affirmative action, despite her thin résumé and gaping absence of foreign policy knowledge, because they expect Republicans to put an underqualified “babe,” as Rush Limbaugh calls her, on the ticket. They have a tradition of nominating fun, bantamweight cheerleaders from the West, like the previous Miss Congeniality types Dan Quayle and W., and then letting them learn on the job. So they crash into the globe a few times while they’re learning to drive, what’s the big deal?

my dad is visiting for the weekend...he read the last post....he commented that all kidz luv villains bc "they have more character"....i refuted this and steadfastly held that i did not like the villain as a kid....then my silent half spoke up......Marvin the Martian.

Well, i did (and still) root for Marvin (commander x2) with his sidekick k9.....marvin was the opposite of all the villains that Bugs faced:  where Yosemite was loud, Marvin was soft spoken; where Elmer was not the brightest bulb in the box, Marvin was a genius.....

SEARCY - Neighbors of the man who gunned down state Democratic Party chairman Bill Gwatney described him Thursday as a quiet, friendly sort who shared with them vegetables from his backyard garden.  But inside the home of killer Timothy Dale Johnson, police found a cache of weapons, a note with his victim's name and a phone number on it, and a will, along with two sets of keys with the "Gwatney" car dealership emblem on them.

Lt. Terry Hastings, spokesman for the Little Rock Police Department, said Thursday detectives were still trying to establish a clear personal connection between the 50-year-old loner and Gwatney, a former state senator who owned three General Motors dealerships in Pulaski County.

Police say Johnson entered state Democratic Party headquarters shortly before noon Wednesday and asked to speak to the chairman. The then entered Gwatney's office and shot him three times. Johnson later led authorities on a 30-mile chase to near Sheridan, where he confronted police after being run off the road and died in a hail of gunfire.

During the search of Johnson's home Wednesday afternoon and evening, police found 14 guns, a bottle of anti-depressants and a computer, along with his will, the note with Gwatney's name and a telephone number, documents filed in Searcy District Court showed.

"If you also look, there's two sets of keys with the name 'Gwatney' on them. ... The name 'Gwatney' (on the note) is not necessarily tied to Bill and this murder. It could be a car dealership," Hastings said.

He could not say for certain whether Johnson ever purchased a vehicle from one of Gwatney's dealerships, but police were looking into the possibility.

"Our detectives are following leads, checking on Johnson's background, talking to anybody that might have information about him. We've received some calls about it, so we're following up all the leads and looking to investigate every aspect that we can think of," Hastings said.

Johnson used a revolver to shoot Gwatney, police said, but he did not have a permit to carry a concealed handgun, Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said.

Johnson did belong to a gun club. Ken Buster, a former secretary of the Cleburne County Shooting Club, said Johnson was a member. He described Johnson as "average to sub-average" with a gun. "He would never impress anybody with his shooting skills," Buster said.

Neighbors of Johnson said Thursday he kept to himself, kept his yard mowed, grew vegetables in a garden and routinely walked his dog up and down Janet Lane, a tree-lined dead-end gravel road a few miles from the Searcy city limits.
