TamU played very well against Buducnost on Tuesday. Chris James has toughened up noticeably, and was a tough-tackling midfielder as well as a playmaker. Henri Myntti found things a bit tougher against a good defence, but that was to be expected and he will learn from the experience. He's played very few games as a striker in his career to date.

FC Honka take on IA Akranes today at Pohjola Stadium. It's free to get in, close to Myyrmäki train station in Vantaa and will, hopefully, see a big win and a convincing performance from Honka against a team that have struggled in the league so far this year.

Honka sold Hannu Patronen to Helsingborg for €300,000 last week, and he made his debut in a 2-1 win against AIK on Tuesday. He had a bit of a problem with their offside tap, alongside his central defensive partner Marcus Nilsson, but in the second half a more aggressive approach paid off.

Haka travelled to Cork on Tuesday for their first qualifying round tie, missing only Sebastian Strandvall and Valeri Popovitch. As Madison celebrates Pride Week and it's valued LGBTQA community, we took some time out from our crazy live music schedule to check in with one of Madison's scenestresses Liz Tymus. Liz is the founder of the ever growing iQ dance party phenomenon.

Tell us a bit about yourself...

I grew up in WI, Have lived in Madison since 2000. I received my degree in Womens Studies from UW. Spent some time living in Prague in 2004 & 2005. Planned to move to a big city to pursue a career in Media Production. Proximity to my family & strong community ties have kept me here. I manage a coffee shop on State Street. My partner just gave birth to our first daughter Joella this year and we are committed to raising her in Madison. I started iQ as a fun project, it has now become a 2nd full time job, however one that I am very committed and passionate about!

Obstacles: Staying true to my vision and my community. iQ really took off this past year and became something entirely different than it was in 2007. We lost the King Club, We lost Tizzy, But we gained a whole lot. Being able to book a monthly party @ a 600 capacity venue is amazing. Booking DJs with regional recognition like Diamonds has brought a new vibe to iQ. Justifying this new vibe is challenging at times. iQ used to be the main event, it was a totally new and unusual 150+ dance party full of queers and queer minded allies dancing until sweat poured down their bodies. Now the street talk is about DISCOTECH and there are sometimes folks who don't know what iQ is, but they know that DISCOTECH is the best dance party in madison. So I'm learning to take pride in what iQ has become and not what it has 'not' become.

I remember being 18, 20, 22 in Madison and wanting to dance. Growing up I went to Milwaukee for underage nights at MadPlanet. It was all I thought about all week. Madison is lacking dance clubs w/ good reputations in a major way. I remember hearing a silly rumor that dance floors are banned on state street and emphasis is put on 'gathering' and thus, drinking a silly amount of liquor. The only places I remember dancing before iQ were either at house parties or driving to Club 5. Ten Percent Society used to have their infamous TPS dances, but have lost their reputation as dance parties over the last 8 years. There is so much music out there that is dance provoking, and if you're not of the 'Madison Avenue' persuasion, your outlets are few to none. iQ was my way of promoting dance parties as well as providing a social outlet for the 20-something Queer minded community who had no outlet in the Madison Nightlife.

iQ was inspired by DRINK TO THE BAN, a DIY effort to bring Queer business to bars suffering from the smoking ban. It turned into a gathering event for Queer folks and as it slowly fizzled out I realized there was no regular place or event where Queers would meet & hang out. iQ was a night originally for Queers to come together and socialize, and then it was about a dance party. For a while it was about Queer live music and that failed miserably, I dont even want to go there :) But now iQ is about growth and expansion of this marketable concept of this 'indieQueer' demographic. iQ now is about promoting parties for anyone looking to connect on the level of queer identity or their love for rockin' dance parties & hipster DJs.

Madison could use a solid venue to offer itself to Queer artists & Queer folks to gather. I would like to see a more involved Madison LGBTQ Community center. No offense to OUTREACH, but my 8 years in Madison has not seen enough involvement or improvements from the resources they have access to. Madison is stuck in a 'lame duck' era. The leading community members of the late 80's are holding on tightly to their rank in local orgs, however they have lost the desire to connect with the spectrum of Queer Madisonians, and our cross-community organizing is suffering. I would like to see a coffee shop/performance venue/night spot queer owned and targeted to all queer madisonians, as well as a Pride Fest Weekend that people travel for. I want to see more support for Our Lives Magazine, it is an amazing resource. Also more Q voices in the Isthmus would harbor community.

iQ is like a lovechild for me. It was an idea I spent a lot of time pitching to the community and it caught on. Now its an awesome convergence of indie party kids & Queer identified folks coming together for various parties to celebrate a vibe. The iQ vibe is this feeling of 'freedom' & 'youth', quickly this vibe is being branded as 'iQ'.

I used to be a regular 'lesbian with a guitar' on the terrace for open mics. My favorite song to sing was 'Romeo & Juliet' by the Dire Straights, but I'd do the Indigo Girls version- ha ha!

An iQ DISCOTECH party starts out slow, but confident. Everyone shows up in their favorite hipster outfit or their newest screen printed t-shirt and the kids who know the DJs start dancing first. Slowly the queers arrive, looking their best for the months iQ DISCOTECH. Around 10:30 PM the dance floor is a wave of iQ kids moving to the music. By 11:30 it takes a bit longer to get a drink at the crowded bar. By 12:30 the headlining DJ takes over the party and people are dancing their hearts out. Some folks chose to stay away from the dance floor and hang in the upstairs bar taking breaks to look over the balcony to the sea of dancers below. It's a pulsating view if you stand their for a minute or so. People are so happy. It's really the best night of my month, to watch so many people have such a pure and aerobic evening. It's a mix of 18-40 year olds, queers, hipsters, city kids, country folks, straight couples, gay couples, friends and singles, Madison celebrities, local business owners, lawyers, doctors, students, old school & new school iQ folk. It's really the coolest collection of Madison folks from a queer perspective.

For those of you who feel confused, LGBTQA stands for Lesbian/Gay/Bi-sexual/Trans-gendered/Queer/Ally. As I was explaining this in a meeting the other day I was met with the response "So, basically, everyone but homophobes?" Yes! That means you- so get out there to support and celebrate!

Odense are favourites to qualify for the next round because they got a somewhat lucky win at TPS last week. TPS now need to score two to stand a chance of qualifying for the next round, but given their recent spirited performances, it is not impossible. The key to winning this game is whether they will convert chances into goals. Despite creating chances in the first leg and against Haka in the Finnish Cup, they lost. Now they need some clinical finishing.

Kiko is out due to problems with visa. Cleaver, Valakari and Sarajärvi are still missing, but that does not come as a surprise because they already became a part of the injury list in May. Hämäläinen and Ääritalo will both be playing. Be sure to keep a close eye on the action at the left flank, where Mika Ääritalo will face the challenge of Thomas Helveg. Last week's confrontation went in Ääritalo's favour, despite the effort put into helping Helveg by the dodgy Latvian officials. Maybe Helveg will seek revenge?

Other interesting Odense players included Morten Bisgaard (number 17), Björn Runström (10) and Christian Bolaños (22).

HJK v FC Haka

El superclassico magnifico, according to the Finnish media. Seppo 'Sedu' Koskinen, purveyor of alcoholic misery to every two bit hick town in Finland, has been active with Haka recently. He has money, which is good, but he has 'new ideas', which are very bad. I haven't looked at the tabloids this week, but I shudder to think what ridiculous banalities he's coming out with. I think HJK will edge it. It's Juho Mäkelä's second to last game before he goes back to Hearts, and he is bang in form and desperate to keep playing. Kalle Parviainen coming back for Haka is a plus, but Popovitch has not been great. I would expect Medo to run rings round him today.

IFK Mariehamn v FC Lahti

IFK are poor at home, but Lahti might be feeling fragile after last week's last minute collapse at Haka. Ilkka Mäkelä and Rafael have important roles to play, as coach and senior player, and we will see what Lahti are made of today. Their quick passing and mobile midfield have the potential to demolish IFK, but then again their fragility when exposed to high balls into the box will be tested by IFK. Ingves, Ochieng, J. Carlsson, Norrmen, Sjölund, Blomberg, Binnion, Isaksson and Överström are out for IFK, Sassila and possibly Kärkkäinen for Lahti.

KuPS v FF Jaro

A must win game for KuPS. They could be without Sesay, and Jaro are very good on the counter. I go for a draw.

VPS v RoPS

About as close to a local derby as RoPS will get this season, so maybe they will improve their poor away record. They will be without Mweetwa, VPS will be missing Ekström and Ylinen. I would love to see VPS start Ederho, he looks like he will terrify defenders with his pace when he finally gets a chance. If he plays with Jan Ahlvik, who is something like Henri Myntti up front, I can see the pair of them tearing Veikkausliiga defences apart. Ahlvik wins everything in the air and passes the ball well, if he had Ederho making runs off him he could be very good indeed.

FC Inter v MyPa

Inter really have to win this. They're still unbeaten, but consistently concede late equalisers, and teams are closing in on them in the league table. MyPa are a tidy outfit but nothing that special, on the other hand they are probably better than the teams Inter have wobbled against recently. I tentatively predict an away win. This game is on Urheilukanava at 7pm on Monday.

KTP v TPS

I'd laugh my nuts off if TPS contrived to lose this one, but I can't really see that happening despite the Tepsi tendency to provide entertainment for everyone in Finnish football, except their own fans.

In Espoo Inter threw away the lead yet again, but this time their substitute keeper, Oskari Forsman,  saved a penalty late on after Patrick Bantamoi had lunged in the penalty area. It probably felt much better than their draws against TamU and IFK, and at least they retain their unbeaten record.

TPS lost at home to Odense in the Intertoto Cup, missing chances and blaming the dodgy referee.  Tonight FF Jaro play VPS in Pietarsaari, the game will be on Urheilukanava at 7pm. Here are the Veikkausliiga results from Sunday:

Every game in Ykkönen finished as a draw this weekend. I wonder what the odds on that were...

I will most likely move abroad during this season, provided there is a suitable club out there with the money needed to buy me.

I would like to go abroad to develop myself as a player. I'm not so young anymore, so this might be a good time to leave.

Hämäläinen signed a new contract last year. The contract expires no sooner than at the end of 2010, but I think it was clear to everyone that Hämäläinen will leave the club much before that. However, a move in the middle of the season would be a surprise to me, with Hämäläinen plagued by injury and his team struggling in Veikkausliiga.

Most likely, however, if he wants a transfer, he will get one if the price is reasonable. Over the years clubs like AC Siena, Udinese, Lazio, AS Roma and NEC Njimegen have shown interest in Hämäläinen. During the past few weeks Nacional have made clear their willingness to secure Kasper's signature.

Hämäläinen's departure would leave a pair of big boots for someone to step in at TPS, so they will be hoping that "Kappe" would stay until the end of the season. The article says that Hämäläinen is not interested in playing in Finland next year, however, so the countdown has begun.

This mix of outcomes is generally what happens when you sign footballers from anywhere. RoPS undoubtedly have a harder time trying to attract talent than most clubs, as they are geographically remote and financially disadvantaged, so it is unsurprising that they cast their net a little wider than teams down south.

The match report on RoPS's website mentioned the incident, and it cannot have been nice for anyone involved. I tried to call Risto Niva, RoPS's chairman, but he did not reply to messages. HJK have made no public comment on the matter. Compare and contrast to Sweden, where Hammarby fans throwing bananas at a black man - even when that was a long-standing tradition to do with the opposition's location not the player's race - caused a media outcry.

I wasn't there, and I don't know exactly what happened, but I do know that this kind of thing would cause an absolute shitstorm in many other countries, and probably fines for the club involved.

On a similar theme, Juha has done some recent work on racism in Finnish football, interviewing Armand Oné and TPS B-Junior Samuel Lindström about racism in Finland. Here are some excerpts:

One and Lindström both argue that football is not an especially racist environment.

"I encounter racism more in my free-time than in football," Lindström says.

One also experiences more racism in his free time.

"When I go out to a bar someone might call me a nigger. When they realise I am "Tepsi's Armand Oné", they become my friend."

The jist of the piece is that Finland is quite racist, but football is no worse than anywhere else. And that people who know him, be they his own fans or idiots in bars, don't act in a racist fashion. Here's Oné's comparison of all the places he's played.

"In England and Scotland things were fine. In France people have made monkey noises at me since I was 16. In Finland I experienced some racism last year in Kotka, when we played KTP," says Oné.

Lindström has had some comments when playing for TPS.

"An opposing player complained that he had been forced to mark a nigger. He also called me a nigger when I went into a tackle too hard."

There is an anti-racism campaign running on Finnish TV at the moment under the slogan 'rasisti on reppana', which roughly translates as 'a racist is pathetic'. Jari Litmanen and Niki Mäenpää play football with some Somali kids before giving the tagline to camera in an appropriately macho stance. It hasn't had much effect on the banana-thrower(s) at HJK, and it's difficult to see the point if incidents like that go unpunished.

Tara Hunt from Citizen Agencycreated this brilliant slideshow (RSS readers will need to open this article to view).  This really helps me get a picture of the mind of the customer.  Once we understand their minds, then we can ensure our process steps are creating value.

Slide 124 inspires me from a Lean perspective.  While there are some necessary non-value-added steps that have to be taken (especially in healthcare), look for the possibility to make it value added by giving the customer tools to personalize their experience.

TPS beat Haka 2-0 yesterday. I only saw the first 20 minutes of the game and had to miss the remaining 70 minutes due to football-related duties elsewhere, but I heard the game was not very good. TPS seem to be getting better though, reports have surfaced that last night's game was an improvement. That is not much, given TPS' recent form and awful performances, but the win was extremely important. Haka sure could have used the three points too, but their inability to convert chances proved fatal. Be sure to check out the goals, including Armand One's wonderful strike, and bunch of other highlights as well as the post-match press conference at the amazing TPS TV.

I can't see MyPa getting anything else but three points against lowly KooTeePee tonight. KooTeePee are probably doing their best, but Veikkausliiga simply seems to be the wrong league for the Kotka side.

FF Jaro will host HJK. The guests are favorites, given Jaro's recent form and the attacking power HJK have in Tomasz Sajdak and Juho Mäkelä.

A clash between RoPS and FC Lahti in Rovaniemi will be a meeting of two teams who have enjoyed a surprisingly good run in Veikkausliiga. Lahti are second in the league table and favorites in that sense, but Rovaniemi is a tough place to visit - ask TPS or Tampere United. Lahti are dangerous up front, having probably the best strikers in the league in Rafael and Berat Sadik. However, I still feel like this might just be a draw. A win for either side would not be a huge surprise though.

KuPS will pay a visit to Tampere United in what, remarkably, is a relegation battle. Only one point separates the two teams in TamU's favour.
TamU have no excuses anymore. They are 13 points away from the top position and the first two spots are, if not beyond their reach, at least a considerable distance away. KuPS, on the other hand, are playing pretty much according to expectations. Of course, they would not mind a win either, so it is not going to be an easy night for Tampere United. 

Inter are topping the league, with two points and a game in hand to go in their favour as opposed to FC Lahti. However, their defeat in the cup game against HJK proved that they might not be immortal after all. According to the reports, the performance was nowhere near the standard they have reached in Veikkausliiga.
Maarianhamina is a tough place to visit and with the players at their disposal, IFK Mariehamn can cause problems. A difficult game to predict, and most likely a difficult game for both teams.

The league table predicts an even match between FC Honka and VPS, too.
Honka are not missing too many first team players. Nicholas Otaru, Hermanni Vuorinen, John Weckström and the likes are on the teamsheet, and tonight's match might just be a farewell night for the Sweden-bound Hannu Patronen, too. VPS are going to field a good team as well.
Honka's home form is nothing short of deadly, but VPS have excelled at defending, conceding only three times in eight games. On the other hand, they have only scored four times and that has to change.

Cacete! Promissor é pouco o novo jogo da ótima série Red Faction!

A IGN divulgou um extenso vídeo os os produtores falam das características do novo jogo e mostram minutos de cenas incríveis de jogabilidade!

Os primeiros Red Faction eram títulos de tiro em primeira pessoa que mostravam a batalha da EDF contra uma corporação ambiciosa e maligna. Em Guerrilla, a EDF conseguiu dominar Marte, mas tornou-se opressora e você comandará um membro de rebeldes nativos de Marte que não aguentam mais a exploração da EDF.

As mecânicas de jogo mudaram bastante. No novo jogo  a visão será em terceira pessoa, com sistema de cobertura, ambientes 100% destrutíveis, terá mundo aberto e possibilidade de uso de véiculos!

O jogo deve sair em 2009 para Xbox 360 e Playstation 3.

One factor that made the workshop a success was having a patient's parent involved.  The parent was able to come in and explain their experience and perspective.  Their participation created a lot of value for the team.

This event demonstrated the power of going to gemba.  A team-member commented how it always felt chaotic but could never pinpoint where the chaos was coming from until they observed and broke it up into pieces.

Last but now least, I saw how important data is for an event.  I am a data consultant so this was impactful to me.  Data in other events seemed to stop after establishing the current state of a process.  This team was looking at cycle times and percentage scheduled during time of day all week.  This helped them figure out specifically where to make improvement adjustments.

I had a great time and learned a ton!

Ce qu'on fait, c'est qu'on travaille avec les gens pour éliminer les délais, éliminer les processus inutiles. Et puis l'autre élément important, c'est que ça se fait sur le terrain

Le Système de Production Toyota est une des bases fondamentales du génie industriel, du lean manufacturing, du lean office... mais aussi du lean healthcare, connu depuis plusieurs années aux Etats-Unis.

Un projet pilote a été réalisé récemment à l'hôpital de Val-d'Or en collaboration avec Promaintech Novaxa (une division de DMR).

Grâce aux experts certifiés «ceinture noire» du Lean Six Sigma de Promaintech Novaxa, l'application de méthodes Lean au domaine de la santé est une réussite. En effet, quelques semaines seulement après le début du projet pilote, l'efficacité du Lean Healthcare est tangible : jusqu'à 3 interventions chirurgicales supplémentaires peuvent être exécutées chaque jour, des économies budgétaires sont réalisées et le délai d'attente à l'hôpital est réduit.

Suite à mon voyage récent au Japon pour visiter 2 usines Toyota et autres, il m'a été donné de constater le niveau de maturité exceptionnel des usines en Lean Manufacturing. Il n'est pas surprenant de constater que Toyota a déclassé GM à titre du plus grand fabriquant automobile au monde.

Les concepts du Lean Manufacturing sont génériques et sont maintenant appliqués sous le nom de Lean Enterprise ou Lean Transactionnel et ils s'appliquent très bien au domaine des services.

Le domaine hospitalier peut être, et doit être, perçu comme une entreprise qui doit gérer efficacement ses opérations. Mon point de vue est clair que le problème dans le milieu hospitalier n'en est pas un de financement, mais plutôt d'efficacité. Le milieu hospitalier peut grandement bénéficier des apprentissages et des techniques utilisées en usine. Il est encourageant que le nouveau ministre de la Santé et des Services sociaux, le Dr Yves Bolduc, ait cette vision.

La balle se retrouve maintenant dans les mains des consultants de continuer à obtenir des succès dans l'implantation du Lean Manufacturing en milieu hospitalier. Il s'agit d'un nouveau créneau qui amènera beaucoup de visibilité et ouvrira la porte à d'autres secteurs du domaine des services.

- A produção do filme colaborou muito com a Treyarch, dando passe livre para visitas aos sets e acesso a todo tipo de material conceitual.

- As vozes dos personagens serão ás dos atores do filme. Daniel Craig, o bond em pessoa, como fã de games se empolgou com o game e colaborou bastante.

Y es que Allen Stewart Konigsberg, más conocido como Woody Allen, es uno de los directores más prolíficos y creativos de la historia del cine.

Sea desde el costado satírico o dramático el cineasta fanático de Manhattan ha retratado en sus películas infinidad de temas, pero siempre dejando su impronta tan personal como única, la construcción y el festejo de la farsa. Y es que el genero puede variar pero el sarcasmo nunca va a faltar en este director estadounidense, "mi forma de bromear es decir la verdad, es la broma más divertida".

Personaje muy respetado por sus colegas, aunque incomprendido en su tierra, Woody Allen se ha dado el lujo de trabajar con algunos de los actores, comediantes y directores mas talentosos que ha dado la industria cinematográfica. Entre ellos se encuentran Peter Sellers, Orson Welles, Peter O’Toole, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese y Francis Ford Coppola. Sabedor de su situación en los EEUU el fanático de los hermanos Marx, Ingmar Bergman y Federico Fellini, dice "no conozco la clave del éxito, pero se que la clave del fracaso es tratar de complacer a todo el mundo."

Autor de una obra vasta, vale destacar entre ellas la que fue, de manera completa, su primer largometraje, “Take the money and run”. Historia narrada en forma documental, cuenta la vida de un inepto criminal, un sujeto totalmente inútil que pretende convertirse en un importante hampón. Sátira de las películas de criminales, esta cinta es una de las primeras en las que puede apreciarse el elemento de la suerte, constante siempre presente en los films de Allen, a través de las situaciones vividas por el personaje.

Con el correr de los años y de las películas Woody Allen se gano el respeto y admiración del público, convirtiéndose en uno de los pocos cineastas actuales de los que puede decirse que hacen cine de autor. La vigencia de este director aun se mantiene intacta, aunque últimamente con intermitencias, pero como el mismo dice  "si no te equivocas de vez en cuando, es que no lo intentas."
